GCSE & IGCSE

GCSE Biology tutoring, online

Friendly, structured lessons that build understanding and exam confidence, for separate (triple) and combined science students at foundation or higher tier.

What we cover

Lessons follow the specification for AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE, for both separate Biology and combined science.

  • Cells, organisation and infection and response
  • Bioenergetics: photosynthesis and respiration
  • Homeostasis, the nervous system and hormones
  • Inheritance, variation, evolution and ecology
  • Required practicals and how they are examined
  • Six-mark questions and command words

How lessons work

We start with a short chat and a few questions to find where your child is. Each lesson then mixes clear explanations with exam-style questions, and parents get a short update after each session.

Who teaches

Lessons are taught by Adam, a 5th-year dental student at King's College London who uses biology every day, and who holds an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Questions families ask

Do you teach combined science and separate Biology?

Yes. We'll check which your child is taking, and whether they're on foundation or higher tier, so lessons cover exactly what will be assessed.

When should we start tutoring before GCSEs?

Year 10 is a good time to build understanding. Starting in Year 11 works well too, especially before mocks or the summer exams.

Are lessons one-to-one?

Yes, one-to-one by default. Small-group revision sessions also run before mocks and in the Easter holidays.
