Terms of service
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms apply to tutoring provided by HS Tutors, run by Adam Hussain, a sole trader based in the UK. By booking lessons you agree to them. If a student is under 18, the parent or guardian who books lessons agrees to these terms on the student's behalf.
Consultations
The first 15-minute consultation is free, with no obligation to book lessons.
Lessons
- All lessons take place online, usually on Google Meet. Students need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a quiet place to work.
- Lesson length, frequency, format (one-to-one or group) and price are agreed with you before lessons begin, usually on WhatsApp.
- Students may message with questions between lessons. We aim to reply within a reasonable time but cannot guarantee an immediate answer.
- Some lessons for medicine and dentistry admissions may be delivered with another current medical or dental student. We will always tell you in advance.
Payment
Lessons are paid for in advance by bank transfer unless we agree otherwise. Prices may change, but we will give you at least 30 days' notice and any lessons you have already paid for keep their price.
Cancellations and missed lessons
- You can cancel or move a lesson free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, are charged in full.
- If we need to cancel a lesson, we will offer another time or a full refund for that lesson.
- If a student joins late, the lesson still ends at the scheduled time.
Ending lessons
You can stop lessons at any time. We will refund any lessons paid for in advance that have not yet taken place, apart from those covered by the late cancellation rule above.
Safeguarding and conduct
- Adam holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, which is available on request.
- For students under 18, a parent or guardian should be at home and reachable during lessons.
- Lessons are not recorded unless the parent or guardian, or an adult student, agrees in advance.
- We expect respectful behaviour from everyone in a lesson and may end a lesson or stop tutoring if this is not met.
- If we have a concern about a child's safety or welfare, we will act in line with safeguarding guidance, which may include contacting the appropriate authorities.
Results
We will always do our best to help students make progress, but we cannot guarantee particular grades, test scores or university offers. These depend on many things outside our control, including the student's own work.
Materials
Notes and resources we create are for the student's personal study and must not be shared or sold.
Independence
HS Tutors is an independent business. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by King's College London or any school, university or exam board.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law. Our total liability to you in connection with lessons is limited to the amount you have paid for them.
Contact and complaints
If you have any questions or concerns, message us on WhatsApp on 07355 894533 and we will try to resolve them quickly.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
